Start with the room
For bathrooms and cloakrooms, 3–5 liters is often a good starting point. Consider 10–20 liters for a small kitchen. If you cook regularly, start with 20–30 liters; larger households often benefit from 40–60 liters.
Measure more than the footprint
Check width, depth, height and clearance for the open lid. Keep the pedal accessible. A rectangular shape can save space next to a cupboard.
Think about your emptying routine
Dispose of wet food waste regularly. A larger bin doesn't replace cleaning. Use the size guide as a starting point, then check the dimensions of your chosen model.
